BENTON LIBRARY BRANCH MANAGER LENISA JONES AWARDED AT STATE CONFERENCE FOR PUBLIC RELATIONS AND MARKETING WORK

The Kentucky Public Library Association (KPLA) has recognized Lenisa Jones, Benton Branch Manager at the Marshall County Public Library, for her work in marketing and public relations.

Jones is the 2023 recipient of KPLA’s Public Relations and Marketing Award, which was established in 2010 and recognizes remarkable achievement in the promotion of library services.

“In the 26 years that Lenisa Jones has worked for the library, she has been the driving force behind making it one of the most visible institutions in our community,” said library director Tammy Blackwell. “What is at the heart of library marketing is the same thing that is at the heart of all library services – relationships. And there is nothing Lenisa does better than relationships.”

The award was presented at the Kentucky Public Library Association Conference in Owensboro, Kentucky on Thursday, March 30. The conference included sessions by Marshall County’s Teen Librarian and 2023 Fresh Faces recipient Olivia Shelton, Calvert City Branch Manager Sarah Pace-McGowan, Director Tammy Blackwell, and Trustee Glenda Byers.

“Wherever you go in Marshall County, the name Lenisa Jones is synonymous with the Marshall County Public Library, and that is why she is so deserving of this recognition,” Blackwell said.
