Ms. Kelly & other children. During this hour, your child will read exciting

Summer
Time Fun in Story Hour
"Can
we do it? Yes, we can!"
Bob
the Builder and friends were in the spotlight this week. Our preschoolers
were first introduced to a wide variety of tools, trucks and other construction
machines. Next, we brought out the irresistible power tools (from the
Fisher Price collection, of course) they included wild sound
effects, flashing lights, and lots of entertainment!
Curious
George @ the library

Throughout
the month of February, our preschool programs have focused on the
curious little monkey named George created
by H.A. & Margaret Rey. “Curious
George makes pancakes” was the theme for these photos. After reading about
George’s cooking adventure we tried making our own pancakes! They were
delicious! Slightly sticky & lightly floured, our hardworking little
chefs received their very own George to go!

Happy
Thanksgiving
November
7th
The Story Hour kids talked about Thanksgiving and learned some fascinating facts
about indian traditions

Mother Goose
After
discussing why we celebrate Thanksgiving the children each received an
indian headband to wear. During craft time we traced our handprint and made
it into a little Indian with five colorful feathers.

Happy Halloween!
Mother Goose has Trick-or-Treaters!
Scarecrows, princesses, and
even Thomas the Tank Engine made appearances at our Mother Goose Story Time
for three year olds. The children played games, won prizes at the Duck Pond, and
received toothbrushes for their trick or treat surprise

Story Hour has Trick-or-Treaters!
During
Story Hour the children participated in a pretend pumpkin toss after painting
faces on their orange balloons. Our little spooks learned how a
pumpkin grows, shared yummy snacks, and at the end of the hour Mrs. Kelly gave everybody
a new toothbrushes as a Halloween treat.

Jumpstart's
Read for the Record at Benton Elementary
The Marshall County Public
Library took part in Jumpstart's Read for the Record on
September 20th by sharing the classic book, The Story of Ferdinand,
and participating in subject-related activities with the students at Benton
Elementary School. The campaign was designed to promote early education
awareness by encouraging children and adults across the country
to read the same book on the same day. The goal was to exceed last years
record of 150,000 readers!
Below are Benton Elem. students listening to Ms. Kelly.
