Young Adult Summer Reading Program

Read Books, Earn Points, Win Prizes!

This program is open to anyone who attended middle or high school during the previous school year.

 • Points count June 01 - July 31. Points are based on type and length of book. 
(We will not count points after July 31 no matter what!)

• Books must be checked out from the Marshall County Public Library

• You are responsible for recording your points and asking for your prizes

• Prizes:
Sign-up: Sticker
10 Pt.: Book
20 Pt.: Candy
30 Pt.: Bag
Grand Prize: $200 Gift Card

• You will be entered you into the Grand Prize drawing every 10 Pts.
You do not fill out the slips!

 

Young Adult Advisory Panel

Young Adults, 8th through 12th Grade
1st Wednesdays @Calvert City, 3:30pm - 4:30pm

The Young Adult Advisory Panel is a group of teens who take part in organizing and implementing Young Adult programs at the Marshall County Public Library. The group plans upcoming events and discusses the latest happenings in Young Adult books and teen programming.

 

Orbis de Scriptors

Young Adults, 8th through 12th Grade
3rd Wednesdays @Calvert City, 3:30pm - 4:30pm

Orbis de Scriptors is a teen writing group where students come together to explore their creative side through writing prompts, word games, and Skype visits with famous authors.

 

After School Program (during the school year)

Young Adults, 7th through 12th Grade
1st & 3rd Tuesdays @Benton, 3:30pm - 4:30pm
2nd & 4th Wednesdays @Calvert City, 3:30pm - 4:30pm
2nd & 4th Tuesdays @Hardin, 3:30pm - 4:30pm

Young Adult After School Programs are an opportunity for teens to play games and explore their creativity while hanging out with friends. Typical activities include everything from painting with chocolate, to crafting realistic Harry Potter wands from paper, to Wii games.
