After School Program (during the school year)

Children, Kindergarten through 6th Grade
Tuesdays @Calvert City, 3:30pm - 4:30pm
Wednesdays @Benton, 3:30pm - 4:30pm
Thursdays @Hardin, 3:30pm - 4:30pm

The After School Program provides students in Grades K-6 the opportunity to meet with peers and enjoy a blend of fun and excitement with learning in the local public library.  Participants will enjoy a program designed to foster and enhance the experience of reading through a variety of activities including games, arts, crafts, small group interaction, and occasionally a short video.  The program's agenda flexes to permit changes as expressed by the students.  Students will discover and explore new skills that promote the development of life long reading.  A small snack will be provided.


Mother Goose

Children, Ages 2-3
Wednesdays @Benton, 10:00am - 10:30am

Mother Goose is a 30-minute relaxed "introduction to story hour" program just for 2-3 year olds and their caregivers! Children are introduced to early literacy skills through songs, exciting books, nursery rhymes, and crafts, usually based on a specific theme. Mother Goose provides an excellent opportunity for children to play together and make new friends all while developing a love for the library and life-long reading!


Story Hour

Children, Ages 4-6

Thursdays @Hardin, 1:00pm - 2:00pm

Story Hour is a one-hour educational library program geared towards children between the ages of 4 and 6 years old. During this hour, we read exciting books, play fun games, and make crafts too! Story Hour is a great opportunity for your child to meet new friends and be introduced to the world of books & reading at an early age. Our goal is to promote life-long readers & users of the library.
