Although not appropriate for younger kids due to explicit language, this was a very good book.  Telling of one girl's struggle to achieve the it girl status, and one girls struggle to maintain it, Von Ziegesar does a nice job of portraying real- life situations.  You never know what's going to happen, in this book.  There's a surprise on every page.
