The Humming
of Numbers
by Joni Sensel
Review by Miss Tammy
Aiden is a novice monk in 10th century
Ireland. His life is going pretty well until one day a girl, Lana,
shows up at the monastery. Lana is unpredictable, beautiful, and
hums of the number 11. You see, Aiden hears numbers humming off of
people and things, and he's never heard a person with a number higher than
10 before. Once Lana enters his life, Aiden's world is turned upside
down. His confusion about his feelings for the girl, his dedication
to God, and where his life is going is only compounded when his village is
attacked by Vikings.
I found this book to be an excellent read.
Aiden's internal conflict and yearning is written so well that the reader
can actually feel it. The story is a perfect blend of history,
romance, fantasy, and action.
