Did you ever see that show Dark
Angel that had Jessica Alba (and the always adorable Jensen Ackles) in
it? Well, I'm pretty sure James Patterson did because this book
series is an obvious rip-off. It's about genetically altered teens
and the heroine's name is Max. (The Dark Angel TV show was about
genetically altered teens and the heroine's name was...wait for it...Max.)
So, in the Patterson genetically
altered teen universe, human DNA has been mixed with bird DNA to create
kids that can fly. Our little family of super-freaks managed to
escape from the big, bad scientists, but now they're on the run for the
their lives. The dialogue is snappy and the characters are likeable
enough, but it lacks originality.
