Gone by
Michael Grant
Review by Miss Tammy
 It's
a book that is one part Lord of the Flies, one part X-Men, one part Cold
War scare, and one part the Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius movie. Sound a
little far-fetched and scattered? Well, amazingly it's not. Gone
is about a small California Town dubbed "Fallout Alley" due to a
nuclear accident that had happened years ago. One day, in the middle
of class, everyone over the age of 14 suddenly vanishes from the town,
leaving the children to fend for themselves. And, if that wasn't
crazy enough, some of the kids start developing super-powers. What
caused the adults to disappear? Where do the powers come from?
Can the kids survive without adults? Don't expect these questions to
be answered by the end of the book. While an engaging read, this
book is obviously a set-up for a series that leaves you with one of the
biggest cliff-hangers of all. Find
