 The
world that Zoey Redbird inhabits is pretty much just like ours, except for
the vampires. They are just a part of everyday life, a part
that Zoey doesn't give much thought to, until she is marked to become one
of them. Then she is whisked away from her normal life and forced to
attend a boarding school where she'll either become a vampire or die. This,
the first of the House of Night book series, will leave you wanting

 Things
are looking up for vampire fledgling Zoey Redbird. Since coming to
the House of Night she's made great friends, has the most powerful vampire
as her caring advisor, snagged the hottest guy in school as her boyfriend,
and has managed to become the leader of the school's most exclusive
club. And then, everything goes really bad really fast. I
won't give away what happens, but about halfway through the book I found
myself crying in the wretched fashion that I normally reserve for Harry
Potter books. Marked, the first
book in this series, was good. Betrayed, however, is great. I
