The Marshall County Public Library Board will receive sealed lump sum bids for the construction of a new public Library facility @ Benton until the bid time and date at the location given below. Project Location: 1150 Birch Street, Benton, Kentucky Owner: Marshall County Public Library, Ms. Kristi Tucker, Director, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, KY Architect: CMS Architects, PO Box 570, Paducah, KY 42002 Project Description: In general, The project consists of construction of a two story Library facility totaling approximately 30,000 s.f. along with site and utility improvements for a 1.6 acre site. The facilities design includes, but not necessary limited to, reinf. conc.ftg & flr. slabs.; ICF ext. walls; Structural Steel col., bms. & joists, lt ga metal trusses/framg., decking, rigid insul, closed cell spray foam insul, batt insul.; Gyp. Sheathing/wall bd., water proofing, metal roofg; brick veneer, aluminum frames & windows, doors/ frames/hdwre; EIFS; sat clg.; paintg, various floor fin; supporting MPE systems for plumbing, HVAC, sprinkler, FA, ltg., power, data. Site design includes earthwork, concrete paving, walks, stormwater, railings, supporting utility improvements for sanitary sewer, water, electrical. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. Bid security shall be in the form of a bid bond issued/executed by an acceptable surety company or a certified check. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 30 days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. Prebid Meeting: A Prebid meeting for all interested parties will be held on March 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., local time. Prospective bidders are requested to attend. Printed Procurement and Contracting Documents: Obtain after March 5, 2018 by contacting Paducah Blueprint, 999 Broadway, Paducah, KY 42001. Documents will be provided to prime bidders/ sub-contractors/ suppliers; only complete sets of documents will be issued. Deposit (refundable amount): $400.00 made payable to the M.C. Public Library. The $400 deposit will be held and refunded to each person who returns the plans and specifications in usable condition within fourteen (14) days of the bid opening date. After this fourteen day period no refunds will be made for Plans and Specifications returned. A maximum of two sets may be obtained by refundable deposit. Additional sets over two may be purchased for $400.00 with no refund. Shipping: Additional shipping charges as determined by Paducah Blueprint will apply. Electronic copies of documents may also be obtained provided one hard copy set as noted above is obtained prior. A nonrefundable amount determined by and payable to Paducah Blueprint shall be required.
